The department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the Catholic University of Daegu opened in 1981. It is the third department in the country to open, and has a deep history both academically and in nurturing talent.
The department of Spanish and Latin American studies aims to foster experts who know Spain and Latin America well based on their excellent Spanish-speaking skills. Spanish is the language spoken in most countries in Spain and Latin America. Although geographical distance from this area is far, exchanges between Korea and Spanish world are getting closer each day. In response, we educate students not only in Spanish but also in politics, economy, society and culture so that they can compete in the global age.
The Catholic University of Daegu has a DELE center, which offers classes from DELE specialists. In addition, you can earn credit for your major overseas experience, exchange students, and internships in Spain and Latin America.
After graduating Spanish and Latin American department of the Catholic University of Daegu, you can work as an expert in a variety of fields where you can use Spanish for the world stage, including domestic and foreign companies, police, Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA), media companies, military officials, flight attendants, diplomats, and teachers.
